Greetings from Nicaragua

It has been a busy few weeks here in Nicaragua.  There have been a number of key meetings between the real estate and development sectors and members of the future administration, set to take office on January 10th 2007.   Commitments to foreign investment, tourism, free trade and property rights have been reiterated at numerous fora across the country.

Vice President Elect visits San Juan del Sur

A recent example is the visit by Vice President Elect Jaime Morales Carazo to San Juan del Sur - perhaps the premier tourism destination in the country.  While touring real estate and hotel projects the VP Elect reached out to the gathered investors: "...You should have absolute certainty that property rights will be respected."  A little later over lunch the VP Elect stressed once again that tourism and foreign investment is vital to the future of Nicaragua and was keen to work with us to get that message out.

A new openness and dialogue

Many are now commenting on a new openness and dialogue between the private sector and the future Government.  Recently a unique working meeting between business leaders and members of the newly elected Government was held as part of the process to create a new economic plan for the country. This meeting represents the opening of a new and important channel of communication between the Government and the private sector and we look forward to hearing more from this process in the first quarter of next year.

The Rediscovery of Nicaragua

A real sense of optimism is growing in the country and the positive mood is beginning to be picked up by the international press.  A recent article in the New York Times talks about the "The Rediscovery of Nicaragua" and real estate investors with an ear to the ground are seeing opportunities to profit in this 'new Nicaragua'.

It's a great time to be in the country and we are launching a series of real estate tours in January, February and March 2007 designed specifically to showcase the best deals available.  A press release on the tours can be downloaded here and for more information on the tours and to register, click here.

We hope to welcome you to Nicaragua soon.

Best wishes for the holiday season.

A home you can be proud of in colonial Granada

Casa Rosita combines the style of traditional Spanish colonial architecture without giving up the comforts of a modern home. Its location is perfect - only half a block from the cathedral and central park and next to Granada's most up-scale hotel. The fact that only a few colonials with two floors exist in Granada only underlines the uniqueness of this historic property.

Everywhere you look in this home, you see thoughtful details, antiques and original art as well as every comfort modernity demands.  The house has a front porch, large sala and a well equipped kitchen and dining room overlooking a lush interior garden. There are two bedrooms with queen size beds, two baths, and an office with a twin bed.  We invite you to experience stylish living in the heart of colonial Granada - you may never want to leave.

Don't get lost in the shuffle, add Remanso to your list

The sandy half moon sweep of Remanso beach is the picture perfect setting for this smart residential community. Fully serviced lots are available with stunning views across the bay and with access to hotel and club house facilities.  Remanso is one of the most affordable residential communities on the Pacific - here you can find properties a few short steps from the water at prices other developers are asking for long ocean views with only driving access to the water.  And to top it off, Remanso is the closest beachfront residential community to San Juan del Sur - Nicaragua's premier tourism destination on the Pacific.  Don't get lost in the shuffle - savvy investors who wish to combine capital appreciation with potential for income generation through rentals (now and not at a distant time in the future) are putting Remanso at the top of their list.
